About

KRS Concrete is Kevin Rodríguez and his crew

Ten years of concrete, one trade, and a phone that gets answered by the person who will actually be on your job.

Concrete running down a mixer truck chute into the step forms

“I can help you with any concrete job you need. We do professional work so that my clients are satisfied.”

That is how Kevin introduces KRS Concrete, and it is a fair description of how the business runs. He has been doing concrete for more than ten years. There is no sales team, no office and no subcontracted crew who have never met you: you call the number, Kevin answers, Kevin comes out and prices it, and Kevin is there when the truck backs in.

KRS Concrete works across Memphis, Tennessee and the surrounding areas, including East Memphis, over into North Mississippi around Southaven, and into Eastern Arkansas. Estimates are free, always, and Kevin works in both English and Spanish from the first phone call to the last broom pass.

What we are good at

  • Reading the ground before pouring on it, so water leaves the slab.
  • Section repairs, so you replace what has failed and not what has not.
  • Reinforcement, because rebar and wire are not optional extras here.
  • Finishing, both a clean broom pass and a properly timed aggregate wash.
  • 0+Years of concrete experience
  • FreeEstimates, every time
  • 0 dayTypical section repair
  • EN·ESBilingual, start to finish

How we work

Five steps, no surprises

Every pour follows the same order. That is why the slabs come out flat and the water runs where it should.

01

Call or text

Tell us what you need and send a photo if you have one. We answer the phone ourselves.

02

Free estimate

We come out, measure, look at where the water goes and give you a price. Estimates are always free.

03

Tear out and prep

Old concrete is broken out and hauled away. The base is graded and compacted, and the forms go in square.

04

Steel and pour

Rebar and wire mesh are tied in, then the concrete is placed, screeded and floated.

05

Finish and joints

Broom or washed finish, control joints cut, site cleaned up. We tell you exactly when you can walk and drive on it.

Step 05: cutting the control joints into the cured slab.

Something we did yesterday. The client called us to tell us that his patio was stagnant with water and that he needed something firm to walk on, so KRS Concrete went and solved the problem with a good concrete work with a nice broom finish and reinforced with rebar. The client is very happy with the work.

Today we went and repaired some sections of a driveway where a lot of water was stuck, but KRS Concrete repaired it in just one day. The customer was very happy and grateful with the results.

FAQ

Everything people ask us

Do you charge for estimates?

No. Estimates are free, every time, with no obligation. Call or text (469) 334-7552 and we will come out and price the job.

What does a concrete driveway cost in Memphis?

It depends on the square footage, the thickness, whether there is an old slab to tear out and haul away, how difficult the access is and which finish you choose. That is why we look at it in person rather than quoting a number over the phone. The estimate is free either way.

Do you reinforce your concrete?

Yes. Rebar and wire mesh go into our pours as standard, tied and chaired off the ground so the steel sits inside the slab where it does its job. Reinforcement is the difference between concrete that cracks and stays put and concrete that cracks and separates.

Can you repair just part of my driveway?

Yes, and usually that is what we recommend. We break out only the failed sections, re-prep the base underneath, tie in steel and pour them back. Most single section repairs are finished in one day.

How long before I can walk and drive on new concrete?

As a general rule foot traffic is fine after about twenty four to forty eight hours and vehicles after about seven days, but it depends on the mix, the thickness and the weather on the day. We will give you the exact timings before we leave the site.

What finishes do you offer?

Broom finish and washed exposed aggregate finish. Broom is the hard wearing everyday finish for driveways and walkways. Washed aggregate exposes the stone in the mix for a decorative, grippy surface that works particularly well around pools.

My patio holds water. Can you fix that?

Yes, and it is one of the most common reasons people call us. Water sitting on a slab means the fall is wrong or the base has settled. We break out the flat section, re-cut the grade and pour it back so the water runs off.

What areas do you cover?

Memphis and the surrounding areas, including East Memphis, plus North Mississippi including Southaven and into Eastern Arkansas. If you are not sure whether you are in range, call or text and ask.

¿Hablan español?

Sí. Kevin habla español e inglés, y atendemos a los clientes en los dos idiomas, desde el presupuesto hasta el día de la colada.

Do you haul away the old concrete?

Yes. Breaking out, loading and hauling off the old slab is part of the job and it is included in the estimate.
