The work we do most

Concrete driveways in Memphis, poured to last

A driveway is the biggest slab most homes will ever have, and it is the first thing anybody sees. We form it properly, reinforce it with rebar and wire, pour it at the right thickness and finish it clean.

Scope

Concrete Driveways in and around Memphis

New driveways and driveway extensions, formed square, reinforced with rebar and wire, and finished the way you want them.

What we pour

  • Full driveway replacements, from tear-out to the finished slab.
  • New driveways on properties that never had one.
  • Driveway extensions when you need parking for another vehicle.
  • Turnarounds, parking pads and aprons out to the street.

How we build it

  • We strip the old slab or the topsoil and grade a firm, even base.
  • Forms go in square and staked, with the fall set so water runs off.
  • Every pour is reinforced with rebar and wire mesh, not just poured on dirt.
  • We finish with a broom texture or a washed exposed aggregate finish.
  • Control joints are cut so the slab cracks where we tell it to, not at random.

FAQ

Questions about driveways

How thick should a residential driveway be?

For cars and light trucks we pour a four inch slab over a compacted base. Where heavier vehicles park, or where the ground is soft, we go thicker and add more steel. We will tell you which one your driveway needs when we look at it.

Can you extend an existing driveway instead of replacing it?

Yes. Driveway extensions are one of the jobs we do most often, usually when a family adds a vehicle and needs the extra parking. We tie the new slab into the old one and match the finish as closely as concrete allows.

Do you charge for estimates?

No. Estimates are free, every time, with no obligation. Call or text (469) 334-7552 and we will come out and price the job.

What does a concrete driveway cost in Memphis?

It depends on the square footage, the thickness, whether there is an old slab to tear out and haul away, how difficult the access is and which finish you choose. That is why we look at it in person rather than quoting a number over the phone. The estimate is free either way.

Do you reinforce your concrete?

Yes. Rebar and wire mesh go into our pours as standard, tied and chaired off the ground so the steel sits inside the slab where it does its job. Reinforcement is the difference between concrete that cracks and stays put and concrete that cracks and separates.
