The apron in front of the garage had gone. On a driveway this size that is the section that takes every turning wheel, and once it starts breaking up it takes the panels either side of it with it.
What we did
We broke out the failed area back to a clean edge and down to bare soil, re-graded and compacted the base, and set rebar through the new section so it is tied to what stays.
The finish
Washed exposed aggregate across the run. The paste is hosed off at exactly the right moment: too early and the surface is ruined, too late and the stone never shows. That timing is the whole job.
